Lumpkin dominated at the traditional Area Championships, with 13 wrestlers moving on to sectionals and 8 of those earning the title of Area Champion. Lumpkin also won the overall team score by a margin of 72.5 pts ahead of White County. We will be hosting the Traditional Sectionals on 2/10 at LCHS. Please come support our Indians!

Our JV came to win, and got the job done! Lumpkin County took First Place with a team score of 204.0, beating Gilmer at 181.5 and White County at 120.0. Other teams competing included Dawson, Pickens and Wesleyan.

What can we say except our boys battled hard and got what they both deserved and earned! We are so proud! Congratulations to our boys and our amazing coaches. The undefeated Lumpkin wrestlers were Geo Hernandez, Kerwin Martinez, Nathan Nielsen, AJ Scott, and Mike Nichols. 

Our JV team battled hard to take 8th out of 22 teams. 

Our middle school team battled hard at the Traditional Middle School State Duals and were able to take home the 2nd place trophy. We were seeded 6th out of 21 teams. Lumpkin dominated right out of the gate, with a win against Commerce. That was quickly followed up with a decisive upset against 2nd-seeded Woodland. The match against Jefferson was a heated battle that went back and forth and came down to the last two matchups where Brody Walker and Joseph Merry were able to secure the team win by pinning their opponents moving Lumpkin into the final championship match. While Lumpkin ultimately fell short of their goal in the finals match, we came out strong against 7A Tift and left everything on the mat. We couldn't be more proud of our Indians!

Our undefeated wrestlers for the tournament were Liam Nielsen, Jacob Merry, Reid Solum, Xander Nielsen and Wolfie Wight.

State Championships will be held January 19-20, hosted by Lumpkin County. Come support this amazing wrestling team as they battle for a State title!

Our Varsity team competed at a grueling 2-day tournament at Lambert - arguably one of the toughest tournaments of the season, where several State Champs and Placers from all divisions come to pit themselves against tough competition. 

Both our Varsity and JV teams had outstanding performances today at the Ambush Duals at Temple High School. Several of our JV wrestlers went undefeated during the tournament, including Dalton Smith, Aiden Marshall, Ian Cronan, Xander Nielsen, Coltrane Seitz, and Zeke Cochran.

Both our Varsity and JV Teams were very successful at the holiday tournament hosted at home this weekend. Varsity took 1st place as a team, and our JV team had several top placers. Only Varsity team scores were tracked for this event.
